The Maker CMS 1.1 Release
The Maker CMS - 'all in one' - Rapid website creation and management application. For mac, linux & windows available now for download

The Maker works on your local machine, the built in editor has auto-complete for the entire HTML and CSS vocabulary, making page creation a cinch, easy upload of files to your chosen server via the integrated FTP tools means that you only have one application open to create, edit and mangage your websites.
Intuitive user interface designed to simply your actions and let you get on with your creativity, with convenient keyboard short cuts for the most frequent tasks and elements to further enhance your productivity.
The Maker facilitates importing, manipulation and synchronising of your graphics files seamlessly and provides a contextual menu in the editor when inserting images into your HTML.
The Maker provides a logical workflow to whole site creation and breaks down webpages into their component parts for easier editing, giving you the facility to edit repeating sections like the header, footer and menus just one time irespective of the number of pages on your site, also a special feature called maker dynamics enables you to insert repeating blocks of HTMl with a single line, again calling from a context menu right at the point of use.
All pages can be previewed locally in your browser of choice, enabling you to test your pages across different browsers before commiting to the web.
The file tree provided in the interface gives you access to all of your websites and each of the files within each website, files that have been edited locally are tagged for upload and can be synchronised with your webspace at any time you have internet access, this is a great feature and enables "road warriors" to continue working, uploading changes at their convineince.
The maker by design creates fully compliant static webpages, but plays very nicely with database driven dynamic sites using django, rails, turbogears etc.
Supplied templates and the ability to save your own templates means that you can build elegant muiltpage sites in a matter of minutes.
built in help system links to 'best in class' internet tutorial and reference data for HTMl, CSS and JS, meaning that you are only a 'click' away from that missing piece of knowledge required to finish your page.

Truly... Rapid Website Creation And Management
This is the 1.0 release of "the maker". The maker is a Content Management System (CMS) for websites. The Maker is running on your local computer and after you made your changes you are publishing via FTP.
All that is required is some webspace with FTP access.
Summary for 1.0
This is a feature complete and stable release. Since 0.9 we have rewritten about 80 percent of the code base and have put a lot of effort into making this application more user friendly. However, this is not just an improved version, it also has many new features.
Here are just a few:
- editing of multiple files across projects with tabs
- improved tree view for files
- simplified and intuitive interface
- much faster

Ease of use but ultimately scalable
There are no technical prerequisites for the user to get up and running with the maker, and you will be truly amazed at how quickly you will have a working website running on your computer viewable in your usual browser, that said the maker is a serious tool and is currently used to manage the content of many websites including sites with hundreds of pages and even WordPress weblog integration.

The Maker and WordPress... an amazing combination, all the features and ease of use of the Maker, mixed with the mighty WordPress for unrivalled content mangement and Blogging..
The wordpress data in the righthand side bar is from my wp blog courtesy of a little PHP code inserted into a 'dynamic file' note the .php prefix on this file, required to for the server tp parse the php code This is all that is needed to use the Maker with the Wordpress database.
